Thruxton Jaguar is one of the leading independent Jaguar specialists in the South of England. Run by Jestyn Thomas, the company has built up an excellent reputation for quality servicing and restoration work. Jestyn's introduction to Jaguars came early. At 17, his first job was varnishing wood-rim E-Type steering wheels for Motolitre. From his window, he could watch the E-Types being worked on at Tony Shaw's workshop next door. Tony Shaw, the Championship-winning E-Type driver from the 1960s and 70s, ran one of the most respected Jaguar workshops in the country. It took two years of persistence to finally get a job with Tony. When he did, Tony didn't pay him for nine months – his first wage packet was £24.50. But the rest is history. Over the next 26 years, Jestyn learned his trade under Tony Shaw, building his first Mk2 engine at 19. Brought up around cars, Jestyn could spray by 18 and opened his first garage at 24. After years at Thruxton Circuit, the company has now moved to larger premises on the Mayfield Industrial Estate in Weyhill, just outside Andover. Although we specialise in classics, we're happy to work on all makes of classic and modern vehicles.
